Enthusiastically...the first word i type and i'm already spellchecking. Enthusiastically pouring my cereal was the only way to liven up the dinner that was happening for me tonight. Im a pro at procrastinating, so what do i do when im pressed for time and trying to pack a bag for a five day trip? oh just start blogging for the first time in two, maybe three years.

side note: while scooping up pics of these bad boys on the web i came across several ways to cook cuttlefish, its a part of the local Indonesian diet (discovered a recipe for kung pao cuttlefish) I'm guessing the taste like squid? Also found out that along with their cephalopod cousins octupuses squids and nautiluses, their brains and central nervous systems are more complex than those of fish and reptiles. And if my fascination couldn't grow any more, the origin of the cuttlefish's name comes from the old English word cudele, derived from the Norwegian word koddi, meaning testicle.

I Know I've Been Here Before, I Know It

I found this bit on youtube while looking up Gus Van Sant. He is one of only a handful of directors right now creating pieces of artwork with their films. Every work of his is a sensory masterpiece that pieces a story together seamlessly. This video made of clips from a few of his films, appropriately titled Youth, shows the frailty of maturation that Van Sant has captured in movies like Drugstore Cowboy, My Own Private Idaho, Elephant and Goodwill Hunting.

Definition of My Emotional State

Mistakes are made to be learned from. So why is it that I keep repeating them? Ah yes, because they're oh so fun. Too bad there's always an after burn.

...And sometimes I nosebleed.

1920's Side Show

More men need to wear dresses. You may not recognize him without the beard...pre-Carmensita days at the Knitting Factory.

Recession. The word everyone's been whispering. Afraid to admit the dire economic state. Worrying that you can't keep up with all the neighbors. Well, the entire culdesac has taken out third a mortgage, the kids won't be getting that shiny new toy because of daddy's layoff at the factory. Many are comparing our country's financial downturn to an earlier era that most have only read about in history class. When the least trusted institution was the bank, tumble weeds swept the dusty roads and the cheeks of the nation hung sallow with hunger. The only tune they could carry was the blues.

Stress in the City

Over a month after initially auditioning for the daytime TV show One Life to Live, I was called back to film a scene for producers and directors. To add to the nerves and excitement I was getting flown to New York City! I brought my mama along and made a long weekend of my trip. With the possibility of a permanent move to the Big Apple as a very real possibility, I came to one definite conclusion; I <3 NY.....but I <3 LA more.

LAte Nights

Club Moscow was my weekly haunt for the summer. The venue, velvet curtains and stained-glass painted walls that melt into a tile exterior with a melted wax candelabra-centered fountain, transforms into an LA kid's paradise at the hands of Keith Wilson. Otherwise a gothic/ S&M club the rest of the week, Keith, aka Keith 2.0, fills the dance floor with hipsters and fills their hearts with electro beats.
Keith keeps the week rolling with a handful of other nights including Blacklight at Cinespace on Sunday, The Room Tuesday nights, the rooftop at Kress Fridays and events including parties poolside at The Standard (Hollywood).
King of the photobooth, JR, holds court with camera in hand to capture these nights.
