I think the geeks got me sick because I'm pretty lethargic and my throat is on fire. My heart is broken because I transfered most of my music to my new Mac but alot of my songs won't play because they are already authorized to too many other computers WaAaAaA! I really don't know what I'm going to do with myself! With all my spare time, now that I'm bed ridden, I was checking out music online and found the new Metric album that was released last month. I'm bitter that I didn't even know they were releasing a new album. I've been with them from the start and saw them at the El Rey when they were touring the Old World Underground album. Metric gives one hell of a live show. But as soon as I'm well enough to leave the house I'm making a beeline to the record store and buying Grow Up and Blow Away.
And I finally got ahold of and uploaded some of the foam/pool party pictures (below)

Come Out and Play

My cousins are here visiting on vacation, a trip that they do twice a year. It works out pretty well becuase the twins are my age and the younger one, who happens to be taller than all of us, is my sister's age. Yesterday was the twins' birthday, so Leila and I were coxed into attending nerd-fest in San Diego, beter known as ComicCon. I was really not excited to walk around with Yugioh kids all day, and my cousins said HAD to dress up as some sort of comic character or else it would be 'no fun'. So I decided to humor them and dress up as princess amidala from the recent starwars series. I was actually pretty proud of my all-white get up that I put together the night before from stuff in my closet. The twins dressed up as characters from their favorite anime cartoon which allowed them to let loose..it was the first time I had seen them wearing short(ish) skirts and makeup!
Instead of batteling traffic, we rode the train south, which was my first time on a train and after that I made a resolution to take the train more often. The ComicCon show turned out to be better than I had expected; everyone had really interesting, detailed costumes, we met illustrators who had cool stories behind the inspirations for their stories and I nabbed a bunch of free stuff. I was wrong about the nerd-fest, I had alot of fun and more than glad I went.

Really, I Just Want to Dance

You know that deafening feeling of frustration that wraps around your head and makes your face hot, when you know you're right but too stubborn to think that they might be right too, and how everything else just feels shitty because of one little thought? Yeah, it sucks. Men!

Safe & Clean

I was up late last night, so this morning I was extra tired and not looking forward my drive to LA in the afternoon. I was extra jittery for the ride and took out my ADD on the radio, if anyone else had been in the car im sure they would have killed me for frequenly jumping radio stations and listening to no more than fifteen seconds of any song. But once there, my meeting went very well and I left feeling like nothing could bring me down. Its a uniquely LA thing, how people look at you, everyone hoping to spot lindsay or hillary or jessica on their way to kitson. Well it was just little ol' me, rushing back to my parking spot, but I sure felt like hot shit, getting looks from behind YSL sunglasses. I guess it was kind of the first time I have been completely selfsufficient, and it felt good.
Traffic back home was a different story. A hellish 3 hour drive, and only bitter text messages to keep my occupied. But thankfully I was able to meet up with Erik and Tinkess and go to sushi dinner at Mosun. Even though I've been really happy doing my own thing this summer, keeping busy and working, I've somewhat neglected my friends even though they are all still on my mind. So it was good to see the boys again. And miraculously I was able to get ahold of my beefer, Chelsea, and we visited some friends for a midnight hooka poolparty which got a little wild. Lets just say bubble bath and a hot tub make for a good night, which somehow landed us all covered from head to toe in foamy bubbles running down the street to the 7-11.

A Feeling, and I Don't Know Why

Summer is half gone, but I perfer to look at it as still having another half of an apple to eat. A sweet, juicy apple. I'm loving my computer right now, but hating that I don't have any photos/music on it yet. I'm on the verge of stepping out on my own, if only I could get my shit straight. Actually, thats wrong, my shit is very straight..maybe I'm just surprised to be here already. It seems like just yesterday we were playing in the sandbox. Ah well, excited nonetheless.
