Fittest Lads

Daddy dearest set me up big time with the music department at FuelTV and hooked me up with access to the taping of their live music show The Daily Habit. After seeing Cut Copy perform up close, I came groveling back for seconds..and thirds. MGMT stopped by the studio and had the crew and audience (in our array of rolling, fold-out and director's charirs) grinning like it were Christmas morning as they turned sound check into a jam sesh that felt more like hanging out in a friend's garage than a studio performance.
MGMT (aka The Management) exploded onto the indie scene this year like pop rocks and cola. The massive appeal of the singles 'Electric Feel' and 'Time to Pretend' from their debut album led to further air play of the tracks 'Kids', 'Weekend Wars' and 'The Youth'.

The following Thursday, Islands graced the studio and brought the heat, as well as double violins, a mini steel drum and a completely black attire. The entire ensemble came together quite classically, and leaving the studio unsure if our chills were from the air conditioning (on HIGH) or the haunting composition of 'Creeper'. Their errie single off their latest album strays from 'Rough Gem', a single from their previous record that was far more sunnier.

How Clever

I neglect this blog like an illegitimate child. If you didn't already know I change the post dates so to look like I'm blogging every other day or so. Cheat! Liar! In truth sometimes I'll be hit with an anti-blogging mood that could last weeks, but alas draw of self-obsessed writing pulls me back and I'll make like half a dozen posts. Deal.
N.E. Wayyys..
At the beginning of the month I did a test shoot with Paul Jasmin and his photography students at Art Center in Pasadena. Definitely a creative environment to go to school at, all four of the students I worked with had interesting approaches to the assignment. I have been kind of waiting on more pictures from this shoot, but have yet to see more than the photos Jed took.
I met the Cunningham twins at the shoot and have since spent some hot afternoons in Silver Lake with the boys. Chad's a hometown hero with his band Pink Enemy. Self described as 'emotronic', PE's dancy electro sound and keen vocals will get your hipster panties wet.

100th Post, Holla

Shortly after I posted the Sam Sparro video (below) I realized that Indie had been playing his single for a few weeks now. Respect.

H2Oooh

If only I had as much steez as Sam Sparro...
This guy is like Dirt Nasty's little brother who found daddy's disco and mommy's jazz, but with big bro's same love of all things naughty.

How Should I Know?

A few weeks back I did a test shoot with Naomi Nishi, one of the only other FORD models who has been with the agency in the LA kids/teen department for as long as I have. This time though she was the one behind the camera, moving from model to photographer after a year of art school in New York.

Be Kind, Rewind

The only reason I regret not joining a sorority was missing out on the Formal/Prom dances. Despite our valiant effort (which consisted of hanging around the guys floor of the dorms every opportunity we got) Eva and I weren't able to score a date to any of the frat dances either..which I'm pretty sure are less like dances and more like drinking trips to Catalina/ Vegas/ Tijuana. So when Kayslee asked me if I would be her cousin's date to his senior prom, I more than acceded, and I can hardly pass up an opportunity to get dressed up. The night was nearly ruined when I failed to produce identification at the dance due to a stolen purse earlier that week. Fortunately, our charm and good looks got us in the door.
