Fittest Lads

Daddy dearest set me up big time with the music department at FuelTV and hooked me up with access to the taping of their live music show The Daily Habit. After seeing Cut Copy perform up close, I came groveling back for seconds..and thirds. MGMT stopped by the studio and had the crew and audience (in our array of rolling, fold-out and director's charirs) grinning like it were Christmas morning as they turned sound check into a jam sesh that felt more like hanging out in a friend's garage than a studio performance.
MGMT (aka The Management) exploded onto the indie scene this year like pop rocks and cola. The massive appeal of the singles 'Electric Feel' and 'Time to Pretend' from their debut album led to further air play of the tracks 'Kids', 'Weekend Wars' and 'The Youth'.

The following Thursday, Islands graced the studio and brought the heat, as well as double violins, a mini steel drum and a completely black attire. The entire ensemble came together quite classically, and leaving the studio unsure if our chills were from the air conditioning (on HIGH) or the haunting composition of 'Creeper'. Their errie single off their latest album strays from 'Rough Gem', a single from their previous record that was far more sunnier.
